Consisting of an exerpt from Sanders' statement published in the book, South Carolinians Speak; for this volume of essays, Rev. John B. Morris recruited respected civic leaders and active church people, to write essays about desegregation for a book published in 1957 by the organization Concerned South Carolinians; collection also includes copy of Sanders' text as it appeared in newsletter, Presbyterian Outlook (4 Nov. 1957); and copy of John B. Morris' final report to the contributors of South Carolinians Speak re their association and assessing their contributions. Notarized confession, 6 Dec. 1957, of Robert P. Martin, Jr., re his involvement with the bombing of the Sanders' home; and letter, 19 Mar. 1974, Brevard, N.C., to Tom Johnson, Columbia, S.C., in which Sanders recalls her life during 1950s, "I deplored the publicity and the feeling that I was hated ... However the support of friends and many strangers more than made up for the animosity and ugly telephone calls which persisted for a time." Scapbook, 3 Nov. 1957-19 July 1958, of newspaper clippings re publication of South Carolinians Speak, and news stories and editorials re the bombing of the Sanders home in Gaffney.
